Caleb Beal
Caleb Beal, PT, DPT grew up on the coast of Maine spending his time after school participating in many sports, from soccer, baseball and basketball in middle school to competitive swimming, cross-country and tennis in high school. This love for sports and being active sparked an early curiosity about human movement and performance. He harvested blueberries in the summers, bent over most of the day, and learned what it was like to live with low back pain, also giving him an appreciation for rehabilitation and proper body mechanics.
Caleb graduated from the University of Maine in Orono in 2016 with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and Exercise Science, rekindling his interest in sports performance and rehabilitation. He moved on to graduate school in Burlington, Vermont to complete a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree in 2019, enjoying all the outdoor activities that the Green Mountain range had to offer.
Caleb had the opportunity during graduate school to travel to New Zealand and take part in a 2-week advanced manual therapy course focused on manual therapy techniques and assessment of spinal pain at Auckland University of Technology. He practiced alongside local physical therapists and got to see how healthcare works in another part of the world. He has a passion for helping people manage their pain and improve their body’s movement through a personalized approach to physical therapy. He likes to get his patients actively engaged in creating their own treatment plan in order to get their lives back on track when recovering from one of life’s many curveballs.
Caleb now lives in Medford with his long-time girlfriend who is also a physical therapist. They are weekend warriors who take off for the mountains or the coast whenever they get the chance to go camping, rock climbing, mountain biking, hiking, and generally enjoying the natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest.
