Danielle Van Liew was born and raised in Southern California. She has been an athlete all her life, but a series of injuries led to her hanging up her cleats early on. However, that incident provided an opportunity to learn about physical therapy, ultimately leading her to pursue it as her career.
Danielle attended Oregon State University, becoming involved in the Adventure Leadership Institute where she was a raft guide and outdoor trip leader and was throughout college. She was also active in the Triathlon Club, competing at collegiate national championship events. Upon graduation, she worked in Bend, OR as a PT aide while training for her first Ironman in Canada.
Danielle then spent a year traveling, living in New Zealand and competing in Ironman New Zealand before returning to the United States. She earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy at the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences in San Marcos, California. She completed her final clinical internship at Jackson County PT in Ashland where she decided to return upon graduation due to the great staff, clientele, and outdoor lifestyle. She enjoys treating patients with all kinds of orthopedic conditions and hopes to help as many as possible remain active and enjoy outdoor recreational activities.
