Phillip Hanson, PT, DPT, CSCS, CF-L1, was born and raised just outside Madison, WI. Phil attended Saint John’s University in MN and earned a BA Degree in Biology. Before attending PT school he worked for a year as a volunteer in Guatemala where he helped teach English classes, worked at an orphanage, and participated in medical missions. After returning to the states, Phil worked for a few years as a corporate trainer for a large health care software company in Madison, WI before deciding to pursue a career in physical therapy. Phil earned his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the University of Wisconsin at La Crosse.
A strong interest in traveling, triathlons, hiking, and outdoor adventures led Phil west after graduation. Before arriving in Medford he worked as a traveling therapist in North Dakota and Arizona. Phil enjoys the variety that working in an outpatient clinic provides and believes in the combination of manual therapy with specific exercises to decrease pain, improve mobility, and restore function. He is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist and a CrossFit Level 1 trainer and plans to pursue advanced certifications in manual therapy to become an Orthopedic Certified Specialist.
Phil enjoys staying active. His interests outside of work include triathlons, hiking, backpacking, camping, and most recently Crossfit. He is excited to take advantage of all of the outdoor recreation that Southern Oregon has to offer.
