Scott was born and raised in Northern California before heading off to college to begin his education and play college soccer. After surgical reconstruction and rehab on an injured knee, he ended up getting his physical therapy education at Northwestern University in Chicago, IL, getting his Bachelors of Science degree in Physical Therapy in 1989.

Scott and his family relocated to Medford in 1997, treating orthopedic outpatients at Providence Hospital. He opened a private practice in 2000 with emphasis on orthopedic manual therapy, gaining Board Certification in Orthopedics in 2001. His continued pursuit of education through the North American Institute of Orthopedic Manual Therapy led to Certified Manual Physical Therapist certification in 2007.

In 2023, Scott joined JCPT to be part of a collaborative team feeling this was a natural continuation of his philosophy of personalized care through exercise and manual therapy techniques. His areas of professional interest include complex lumbar and cervical dysfunction, shoulder injuries, as well as shoulder, hip and knee replacements.

Scott has coached soccer in the Rogue Valley for 20 years, taking an interest in training young athletes in injury prevention and maximizing their athletic potential. He is an active outdoorsman enjoying mountain biking, golf, ocean fishing, and snowboarding. He is a former triathlete, competing in the Canadian Ironman and Hawaiian Ironman Triathlons in 1994.

Scott and his wife reside in Medford, with all three of their adult sons living in Oregon.
